About Me:: I am a 1964, i.e., 1964, U.S. Army length of service military retiree who served this deceitful, thankless and unforgviving nation during and over three major engagements in combat and a dozen minor conflagrations, and then BETRAYED along with 432,000 cohorts on retired pay. This after we had given the nation the best years of our lives on the "low draft-era pay" and non-existent allowances.

The nation changed a decades old low regarding how retired pay would be paid in the future from "recomputation" to a new system known today as COLA. Our base for the annual COLA is that "low" pay and our successors is based on the All Volunteer Military pay in which there has now been some 47 such "high" pay raises. Not a one of these has helped us but only made the disparity worse. Consequently throughout the 25 pay grades we have witnessed and endured a pay discrimination of up to 100% difference in pay. Thus the remaining less than 25,000 cohorts of my time have endured this for some 44 years. Also,

Medicare did not even exist when I retired . I knew that, under the "law," I had "earned" life-time health care for myself and eligible dependents. No,

in the '70s this same deceitful nation notified us that on attaining age 65 when no longer subject to recall to active duty and wanting any health care "Go to Social Security and apply for Medicare part B" along with the draft-dodger, highly paid civilian, and now the "ingrate" highly paid successor military retiree. So,

for 31 years my wife of over 59 years, who served with General George S. Patton's Third Army Field Hospital as a captain nurse in France,Germany and Austria, have paid; part, most or currently "all" of our healtha care. This consumes over 2/3d of my meager retired pay. What a hell of an Honor for us?
